Over the weekend I had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of Nathan & Rebecca. They chose to get married in a lovely venue in Woodend in the outskirts of Melbourne. The wedding day went really well, however the weather was fairly cold and raining. As a photographer I never worry about weather as it is the one thing we cannot change and my job is to be adaptable in all different conditions. I have learned over the years it is so important to have a plan B, the photo below was taken in the main street of Woodend. For those of you who have not been to Woodend – don’t drive too quick otherwise you will miss it!
The clouds make the image so dramatic and the colour of the car adds the contrast needed to balance the image. Bad weather can work to a photographers advantage – so never get stressed about the weather!
It does not matter where you get married or what type of weather you end up getting – the most important thing is to have a good time. Your photographer should have a good idea what will work in different weather conditions and make sure you have a plan B!
